Qualifications
- A minimum of B.Sc. Geographic Information Systems, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science with Geography and Computer Science.
- Professional affiliations/memberships:
- SAGC (South African Geomatics Council)
- SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Sciences Professional)
Experience
- 0-2yrs working experience.
- Understanding of the Esri product suite: (this is in line with our strategy of Esri product implementation for our division. ):
- ArcGIS Enterprise.
- ArcGIS Pro.
- ArcGIS Online.
- ArcGIS Field Maps.
- Python/ArcPy.
- Javascript
- Understanding of remote sensing and working with remote sensing imagery/datasets.
- Understanding of Python programming language.
Duties
- Analyse spatial database information.
- Assist with the development of custom and standardized agricultural nutrient (these are chemical maps) and fertiliser recommendation maps.
- Develop and maintain GIS databases.
- Process and manage Remote Sensing data.
- Translate raw data into agricultural solutions.
- Assist GIS Specialists with the development and maintenance of Esri dashboards.
- Collaborate with GIS Specialists, Soil Scientists, Digital Developers & Agronomists, and NSD personnel.
