About the Paramedic Training Programme:Mediclinic, in partnership with ER24, is inviting passionate individuals to apply for their Emergency Care Technician (ECT) Learnership. This is a two-year training programme that takes place at the Mediclinic Learning Centre Cape Region in Bellville, South Africa. During the programme, you’ll study for a Diploma in Emergency Medical Care, gaining the skills and knowledge you need to succeed as a paramedic.

The programme offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes:

- Anatomy & Physiology: Gain a deep understanding of the human body and how it functions.
- Integrated Sciences (Physics & Chemistry): Understand the scientific principles that underpin emergency medical care.
- Emergency Medical Care: Master the theory, clinical skills, and practical applications of emergency medical care.
Upon completion, you’ll be equipped to provide lifesaving care to critically ill patients. Graduates will earn an Advanced Life Support qualification and be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Emergency Care Technician (ECT).
Minimum Requirements to Apply:To be considered for the programme, you must meet the following criteria:
Educational Requirements:

- Old senior certificate: D-aggregate (950 marks).
- Mathematics at NQF level 4 with a minimum mark of 40%.
- English at NQF level 4 with a minimum mark of 40%.
- Physical Science at NQF level 4 with a minimum mark of 40%.
- Recognition of prior learning based on criterion-referenced assessment for learners with healthcare-related experience, if applicable.
Selection Criteria:
- Meet all the minimum entry requirements.
- Successful interview.
- Successful completion of a health and phobia test.
